The Full Moon in Taurus is exact today at 1:28pm PST. Although Taurus is typically known for it’s laid back and simple nature, this full moon will feel electric due to the alignment with Uranus. Uranus brings the unexpected into our lives as a way for us to identify who we really are at our core. It brings shake ups to our lives, flashes of insight or inspiration, and unexpected events that require us to embody our authenticity. Uranus has been in Taurus since 2018, creating the most change in the lives of people with planets or points in the fixed signs of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, and Aquarius. This will be the last Taurus Full Moon with Uranus co-present in the sign for approximately 84 years.

What can we expect with this full moon? When Uranus is involved, the answer is always “expect the unexpected.” Uranus helps us to individuate and shed our outdated identities that no longer feel right to us. It’s unpredictable in nature and can cause us to be filled with nervous energy. Taurus is a sign heavily focused on comfort, values, and stability. By contrast, the Sun in Scorpio reminds us that the depths are calling us and that life is dark and complicated. We’ll feel a tension between simplicity and complexity and going deep and staying on the surface. The full moon is reminding us that sometimes we have to stay on dry land. Sometimes we have to keep our head on our shoulders and carry on. Sometimes we need a break from trying to figure it all out.

Taurus wants us to keep it simple and after all of the recent upheaval we’ve been experiencing in our lives, I suggest that we listen. Keep your schedule light this weekend and give yourself grace for not doing more. Spend time in nature, listen to music that moves you, eat delicious food, and try not to let unexpected happenings derail you. The goal is to cultivate an inner peace that helps you withstand chaos and change in the outer world. In order to do that, you have to drop the non essentials and understand what is really important to you. There are times that we need chaos in our lives because it helps us to practice our ability to stay centered and present in our lives. Even if you aren’t directly impacted by the energy of the full moon, others around you could be and they may try to drag you into their drama. Do your best to mind your own business.

The influence from Uranus can help us to conduct a radical re-evaluation of our values and shed the part of us that are no longer in alignment with them. Venus is very active at this time as the ruler of the full moon and the south node. Venus is also squaring the lunar nodes from early Capricorn, bringing up the need for resolution of karmic relationship patterns and the dissolution of outdated, patriarchal values. Capricorn is the sign of tradition and it represents our systems and structures. There’s a need to reflect on your lived experience and compare your values to it. If you have structured your life around a particular belief or system, you may ignore many signs of misalignment with this thing until it becomes impossible to ignore. Pay attention to where things are going “wrong” in your life. Are you ignoring or avoiding a change that needs happen because of the instability it will bring to your life?

Venus is conjunct two dwarf planets, Ixion and Quaoar, at the full moon. Ixion compels us to follow our passion, define our own rules, and live life on our own terms. At the unconscious level, Ixion is destructive and power hungry because he goes after what he wants without regard for the consequences. When we engage with his energies at a more conscious or spiritual level, we start to understand how we can redefine the structures or rules of our lives to allow us to follow our passions while honoring our implicit and explicit commitments. With Venus in Capricorn conjunct Ixion, there is a desire to build a passionate life that sustains us and to dismantle the systems that require our blind obedience.

Quaoar conjunct Venus in Capricorn is reminding us not to get sucked in to the drama of our life. We might be the main character in our story, but we must not forget that we are part of the larger story of humanity and each individual person has an impact on the collective. Quaoar wants us to stay present and live our life as a waking meditation. This alignment with Venus is a reminder that despite the drama in our lives, we have the power to decide how we respond to the people and systems that strive to keep us enmeshed in their drama and stories. Your life becomes so much simpler when you decide to take responsibility for your own consciousness and your own reality and allow others to take care of themselves.

The new moon in Scorpio was exact early this morning on November 1, 2024. This new moon is about reconnecting with yourself at a deep level. You’ll be encouraged to sit in the darkness of not knowing what comes next, and get in touch with what you really want. When you create the space to explore your desires, you might be surprised to find that they have changed. You could be caught off guard by the grief that you feel when you allow yourself to mourn the old dreams that never materialized. Let those emotions guide you and help you understand what’s really important to you.

We can all feel the intensity of this moment in our collective history, and once again it feels as though humans are more divided than ever. With Venus in Sagittarius opposing Jupiter in Gemini, relationships will benefit when you approach disagreements with curiosity and a desire to learn more about how the other person thinks. Instead of getting defensive, ask questions. This is a powerful time to consider the ways in which people’s beliefs are shaped. What has happened, or not happened, in their life to create these beliefs? By engaging in difficult conversations and by sharing our own personal journey, we can better understand each other and find grace in our shared humanity.

With Mars in Cancer opposing Pluto in Capricorn, many people are feeling self protective, vulnerable, power hungry or powerless. Pluto will spend only 18 more days in Capricorn in our lifetime and it’s not holding back. We’re seeing even more of the corrupt nature of our societal systems, authority figures, and corporations. Individuals are starting to realize how much of their personal power they have given away to corporations and how their lives have been shaped so strongly by societal expectations. These are triggering times and people are on edge, emotional, and ready for a fight. If you find yourself feeling this way, it might be a wake up call for you. Confrontations that happen at this time appear to be about someone else, but they are really about how you haven’t shown up for yourself or how you have given your power away. Nobody is coming to save you. It’s time to all your power back and let your heart lead the way forward.

Stay present with yourself as you navigate personal and collective challenges in the coming weeks. You can only show up for others when you show up for yourself first. This is a potent time for transformation for those that are willing to take responsibility for their reality, forgive themselves and others for the past, and live in love in the present moment. Remember all of the times that you’ve survived impossible situations before.

Ceres is highlighted during this new moon as well. As I’ve written in other recent posts, Ceres has been very active this year. Currently in the sign of Capricorn, and recovering ground after a long retrograde cycle, Ceres is speaking to our need to bring more humanity in to our social structures and business practices. Ceres is making a tense aspect to Chiron in Aries at the time of the new moon. Chiron in Aries is helping us understand how our woundedness may prevent us from taking action or how we may act in ways that aren’t true to ourselves. We’re being called to provide ourself with the nourishment that we need to show up authentically in the world instead of relying on the support of others. If you have a tendency to be co-dependent, self-conscious, or people pleasing you’re likely feeling resentful right now. It’s a hard pill to swallow but you are the one responsible for meeting your own needs. We have to learn how to nurture our soul and be comfortable with our depths. Our inner wells run deep with wisdom, guidance, and authority but we must embrace the darkness to find the light.

Life is a journey filled with grief, desperation, hope, and change. It’s important to look back at all the cycles of life and how they feed our growth and put us more in touch with our soul. Contentment arrives when we accept and love ourselves despite the choices we’ve made or the opportunities we’ve missed. Gratitude emerges when we’re able to be truly thankful for the beauty that remains in our life when everything else falls apart. Just like the dead plants and the fallen leaves nourish the soil for future growth, our grief, isolation, and soul searching provide food for our next cycle of life. We must allow ourselves to consciously feel and accept these times as a part of our soul journey.
