The Full Moon in Taurus is exact today at 1:28pm PST. Although Taurus is typically known for it’s laid back and simple nature, this full moon will feel electric due to the alignment with Uranus. Uranus brings the unexpected into our lives as a way for us to identify who we really are at our core. It brings shake ups to our lives, flashes of insight or inspiration, and unexpected events that require us to embody our authenticity. Uranus has been in Taurus since 2018, creating the most change in the lives of people with planets or points in the fixed signs of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, and Aquarius. This will be the last Taurus Full Moon with Uranus co-present in the sign for approximately 84 years.
What can we expect with this full moon? When Uranus is involved, the answer is always “expect the unexpected.” Uranus helps us to individuate and shed our outdated identities that no longer feel right to us. It’s unpredictable in nature and can cause us to be filled with nervous energy. Taurus is a sign heavily focused on comfort, values, and stability. By contrast, the Sun in Scorpio reminds us that the depths are calling us and that life is dark and complicated. We’ll feel a tension between simplicity and complexity and going deep and staying on the surface. The full moon is reminding us that sometimes we have to stay on dry land. Sometimes we have to keep our head on our shoulders and carry on. Sometimes we need a break from trying to figure it all out.

Taurus wants us to keep it simple and after all of the recent upheaval we’ve been experiencing in our lives, I suggest that we listen. Keep your schedule light this weekend and give yourself grace for not doing more. Spend time in nature, listen to music that moves you, eat delicious food, and try not to let unexpected happenings derail you. The goal is to cultivate an inner peace that helps you withstand chaos and change in the outer world. In order to do that, you have to drop the non essentials and understand what is really important to you. There are times that we need chaos in our lives because it helps us to practice our ability to stay centered and present in our lives. Even if you aren’t directly impacted by the energy of the full moon, others around you could be and they may try to drag you into their drama. Do your best to mind your own business.

The influence from Uranus can help us to conduct a radical re-evaluation of our values and shed the part of us that are no longer in alignment with them. Venus is very active at this time as the ruler of the full moon and the south node. Venus is also squaring the lunar nodes from early Capricorn, bringing up the need for resolution of karmic relationship patterns and the dissolution of outdated, patriarchal values. Capricorn is the sign of tradition and it represents our systems and structures. There’s a need to reflect on your lived experience and compare your values to it. If you have structured your life around a particular belief or system, you may ignore many signs of misalignment with this thing until it becomes impossible to ignore. Pay attention to where things are going “wrong” in your life. Are you ignoring or avoiding a change that needs happen because of the instability it will bring to your life?
Venus is conjunct two dwarf planets, Ixion and Quaoar, at the full moon. Ixion compels us to follow our passion, define our own rules, and live life on our own terms. At the unconscious level, Ixion is destructive and power hungry because he goes after what he wants without regard for the consequences. When we engage with his energies at a more conscious or spiritual level, we start to understand how we can redefine the structures or rules of our lives to allow us to follow our passions while honoring our implicit and explicit commitments. With Venus in Capricorn conjunct Ixion, there is a desire to build a passionate life that sustains us and to dismantle the systems that require our blind obedience.
Quaoar conjunct Venus in Capricorn is reminding us not to get sucked in to the drama of our life. We might be the main character in our story, but we must not forget that we are part of the larger story of humanity and each individual person has an impact on the collective. Quaoar wants us to stay present and live our life as a waking meditation. This alignment with Venus is a reminder that despite the drama in our lives, we have the power to decide how we respond to the people and systems that strive to keep us enmeshed in their drama and stories. Your life becomes so much simpler when you decide to take responsibility for your own consciousness and your own reality and allow others to take care of themselves.
