This morning the Libra solar eclipse went exact at 10º of Libra. This is the last eclipse in the sign of Libra for this series of Aries/Libra eclipses. With the eclipse happening on the South Node in Libra, we’re being called to release the dysfunctional behaviors and outdated beliefs related to the Libra house and planets in our natal chart. There’s a push for us to start looking deeper within ourselves and to stop expecting our relationships to provide us with what we feel is missing. The planets are leading us in a new direction towards authenticity and innovation that will be fueled by many of the outer planets changing signs in 2025-2026. It’s time for us to get comfortable with the only person that we’ll be with for our entire life.
This eclipse is conjunct Black Moon Lilith which emphasizes the need to break free from toxic, unhealthy, or restrictive relationships. Black Moon Lilith can help us find the strength to stand up for ourselves and to embrace non-traditional relationships or beauty styles. There’s an emphasis on transforming the legal system and fighting for the rights of oppressed groups with this placement. Asteroid Astraea, known as the Goddess of Justice, is also aligned with the eclipse which reinforces the focus on injustice. Astraea was the last immortal to stay with humans at the end of the Golden age. She wanted to help save humanity but eventually became frustrated and disgusted with their behavior and she left earth to save herself instead. We can see the injustice fueled outrage playing out today with many Americans grappling with the devastation of Hurricane Helene while the Government sends money to Isr*ael to fund their ethnic cleansing agenda. Last week we also witnessed the death of Marcellus Williams, an innocent Black man on death row for over 20 years. More and more people are seeing the ways in which our societal systems demonstrate a lack of respect for the preciousness of human life and how they are designed to help the people in power while encouraging division among everyone else.

The dwarf planet MakeMake is also exactly conjunct the eclipse at 10º Libra. Makemake represents “systems consciousness” and the ways in which we create our collective reality through our participation in the societal structures, therefore signaling our approval and reinforcing their apparent value. In many ways this happens because of lack of awareness or consciousness that things can be done differently. On an unconscious level, Makemake is manipulative, reckless, and refuses to play by the rules. In the sign of Libra, we see this played out collectively in relationships, art, love, and even the justice system. This planet is asking us to consider who benefits from these systems? Who is actually playing by the rules and who is not?
Salacia, another dwarf planet, is on the North Node and opposing the eclipse from Aries. Like the energy of Libra, Salacia is also focused on relationships. She represents the divine timing of true love, helps us to embody an authentic love for all of humanity, and encourages us to tap into our deep sensitivity to the ebbs and flows of life. Salacia reminds us of the need to be authentic in order to find the right relationships for us, and the depths of emotion that will arise when we drop our defenses and take a leap of faith for love. At the unconscious level, Salacia seeks approval and love wherever it can be found. Instead of confronting the difficult emotions that arise within our close relationships, she will encourage us to run away. Collectively, this can point to the ways in which people are overwhelmed with sensitivity to all the terrible things happening and how much easier it is to just look the other way instead of confront the darkness of our reality. However, we do have an option in how we respond to these injustices and we can utilize the energy of Salacia to find the courage to be our authentic selves and own our deep love for humanity. In the sign of Aries, Salacia helps us embrace our independence and she serves as a reminder that we are whole on our own. At the very least, we can contemplate how the societal systems in which we live impact our relationship to each other and our planet.
On a more personal level, Salacia brings a knack for finding the right timing to make a change or a commitment, and as a result we could find ourselves feeling that the time is right. You may feel inspired to commit to a person, a new path, or yourself and it’s likely that you’ll have to let other options or paths fall away in order to be fully present and available for this commitment. This will feel like a strong inner knowing that you’re ready for change and it will be something that you’ve been feeling and contemplating for some time. Salacia requires a leap of faith and this will feel like a stretch but you have to trust the universe to meet you half way. The opposition to the eclipse means that there will be a need to let some relationships go in order to move forward in this new direction. Allow yourself to feel the grief that this brings up for you.
We can’t forget that the most important relationship we have is the one with our self. We can blame the systems or our partners or our parents, but at the end of the day we must come back to ourselves. We can’t expect our relationships to provide the satisfaction that we can’t find within ourselves. You may be feeling a deep sense of grief because of the ways you’ve abandoned yourself in order to fit in or find peace. This is a normal and healthy part of coming home to yourself and these feelings should be felt and processed. Losing our sense of who we are will lead us to live a life that doesn’t feel like it belongs to us. We feel lost and empty because we are cut off from the fullness of our being. Once we are freed from our false identity, we gain access to a powerful presence that helps us to maintain a sense of steadiness as we navigate the challenges of life.

Don’t give up on yourself, you can find your way to self acceptance and a more meaningful life. This will require you to shed your old ways of relating to the world and it can result in a profound sense of loneliness. It will also crack your heart open and help you to create more meaningful and equitable relationships. You’ll be able to relate to others more deeply and authentically once you allow yourself to open up in this way. As we give ourselves grace for our mistakes and our humanity, we can more easily extend it to others.
